Greeley started as an experiment. In 1869, New York Tribune agricultural reporter Nathan Meeker founded the Union Colony, a planned farming community at the meeting of the Cache la Poudre and South Platte Rivers, with backing from his editor Horace Greeley, the man who popularized "Go West, young man." Within a few months 500 settlers had arrived, and the colony soon took Greeley's name.
Today Greeley is the Weld County seat and one of Colorado's ten largest cities, home to the University of Northern Colorado and Aims Community College. It still has deep agricultural roots, and every summer it hosts the Greeley Stampede, a nearly two-week rodeo and festival leading up to the Fourth of July that began in 1922 as the Greeley Spud Rodeo.
Ascent's Greeley coverage is centered on the outskirts of the city and the surrounding rural areas. We can't currently serve most of central Greeley, but many addresses around the edges are in range, and our local team can tell you what to expect at your address before your install ever happens.
